Private 1 on 1 Sessions

In private sessions, you're learning how to gain control of your pup as your own dogs trainer. I work with owners as their coach and give them the tools to practice at their own pace.  This is for those who wish to be more hands on with their dogs progression and have the time, commitment and patience to follow through with the lessons and homework in order to see their dog through to success.

Private sessions

Sessions are typically an hour long and are done either at your place of residence, or at a dog friendly public location. How many sessions it takes to complete your training is truly up to the speed that your dog learns and how much training you both do outside of the sessions. With you being the dogs primary trainer, this requires more effort on your part to make sure that your dog can succeed. In each session, I'll be giving you the tools and techniques to progress your dog to the next step and making sure that we stay on a forward moving track. You'll have access to me in between lessons with phone calls, video calls, and texting for any questions or troubleshooting matters.

Along with your unique needs/wants as a dog owner, what I'll typically cover in every private lesson:

Leash Walking

Proper leash walking is fundamental to having your dog in a residential area, bringing your dog to the vet, or just taking your dog around town. We want to make sure our pups know how to walk beside us on a leash instead of pulling and lunging at the end of it. Teaching how to "turn on and off" leash pressure helps to create less stressful walks for you AND your dog and gives your dog more freedom where they can go.

Good Citizen

Whether its just being able to walk down the street or if you'd like your furry companion accompany you to the store and cafes, we'll work on how to be calm in these areas even with the distractions of other people walking by, children and other dogs.

Basic Commands

This is the foundation of all training. I make sure that your dog knows the basic commands of 'Sit, Stay, Down, Come, and Leave it' At its core, just teaching these 5 commands will be able to create a more stable household if you choose not to teach anything else. If you decide to further your training at any point, these commands provide the basis that the other ones will build off of.

Greetings

Not being able to stress about jumping, barking, whining, or nipping when interacting with guests that come to your home or people walking on the street adds to having a calm relationship. We can teach your dog to either say hello calmly, or to wait by your side if they would rather not interact. Having the option to do either gives you the peace of mind that you dont have to worry about your pup being overly excited or fearful of new situations.
